Northeastern State's campus in Broken Arrow opened its doors in 2002, welcoming more than 1,050 students. Phase I of the campus, which included an Administration building, two classroom buildings, and a maintenance facility, was funded with a one-half percent sales tax increase approved by Broken Arrow voters. In October 2004, NSU broke ground on Phase II of the BA campus. This $26 million expansion was made possible through Tulsa County's Vision 2025 program and will double the size of the campus, adding nearly 300,000 square feet and room for an additional 5,000 students. Phase II will include construction of science, library, and classroom buildings and is expected to be completed in the fall of 2007.
