Shanghai's MoCA hops on the unity bandwagon with "Night on Earth," a multi-media extravaganza that unites the urban art scenes in Berlin, Shanghai and Helsinki. The far East contributes "Spatial Collisions and Time-based Collisions." Party at MoCA's new Art Lab space opens to the riff-raff, ahem...public at 9pm. Exhibition closes at 10pm, but the concert rages on upstairs 'till 2am.

Explore philosophical notions like the sense of infinity created by endless mirrors, and the idea that human beings never experience an entirely accurate reflection of themselves...unless you think installation is silly, in which case you might want to sit this one out. Sandy Rivera plays Attica this Friday. For those of you who haven't heard of Sandy Rivera: SHAME ON YOU! The guy is responsible for some of the finest floor-fillers in the last 10 years. Remember 'Young Hearts'? Well you should, it won Pacha Award for the best Ibiza tune and 'Finally' was something of an anthem for the early noughties. With this kind of catalogue, this event really is one not to be missed.

James Whitlow Delano's photography goes a long way toward convincing his audience that everyone in China is really, really miserable. The Tokyo-based, American photographer snaps his shutter with the impact of a documentary and his black & white and sepia-toned prints of suffering Chinese on boats purport to be representative of the "human condition." But all jokes aside, this is an award-winning artist and m97 has been on-point with its exhibitions this year. Recommended. Opening reception is from 5pm-7pm.

The delicate tension between humor and hopelessness that is irony rears its head at French Concession gallery, Art Labor with a solo show by Canadian artist Davida Kidd. Kidd uses photography and multi-media to dissect the "world of transgression." Opening reception from 5pm-8pm.

Looks like DJ Mitomo Tokoto, one of Japan's bigger club DJ is moving down the street for his next show in Shanghai. Considered the "father of the wood and lacquer art movement in China,""Qiao Shiguang is an artist whose work spans over 40 years of experience and a variety of subject matters. From pastoral scenes to portraits to still-life paintings, his works illustrate his mastery of the demanding technique of lacquer art. "Retrospective" is a solo exhibition that highlights this artist's diverse body of work. Opening from 4pm-7pm.

While yoga was traditionally practiced by men in ancient India, more women than ever before are enriching their lives with this rejuvenating practice. Although this band's name doesn't say a whole lot for its self-image, the Norwegian Organ trio fuses innovative improv with classical training for a fine-tuned performance. Excess Baggage includes Vigleik Storaas on piano, Steinar S. Nickelsen on organ and Håkon M. Johansen on drums. Show starts at 10pm. Sister band, The Spare Tires, opens.
